1950 Dearmond 800-A Tremolo Control Year: 1950 Brand: Dearmond Model: 800-A Tremolo Control Class: Tremolo Owner: Jeff Hewitt Status: In Studio.
The dearmond tremolo was one of the first guitar effects (1941). It uses a small canister filled halfway with an electrolytic fluid that ground outs the signal as the canister shakes. The pot in this unit dates to 1950.
2018-02-01: The motor on this unit had shorted out and burnt up the coils. In addition it was missing the original canister. I was able to rewind the motor and get it working. After that I took some brass plate and tube and made a new canister. Now it
sounds just like it should.
