This is a really cool pre-gibson Epiphone. The Masterbilt Olympic was produced from 1931-41. It features a mahogany back and sides, Spruce top, a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and bridge. This one was in decent shape when I picked it up, but the action was really high. It was so filthy the whole guitar was almost black. In fact until I got it home and cleaned the headstock you couldn't read the brand. A good cleaning, some fret leveling work, and it plays great.
2017-10-01: I went with a dearmond rhythm king 1000 reissue for a pickup. It installed simply on the neck and under the pick guard I added volume and tone thumb wheel controls.
