Guild branded Watkins MK IV. The MK IV was the most popular version. This one suffered from the usual issue, output but no echo. A clear sign that the capacitors in the unit need replaced.. After that and a good cleaning and lubrication, it's in tip top shape again.
2023-01-04: Replaced all of the electrolytic capacitors, cleaned the unit, lubricated the lubrication points, cleaned and lightly lapped the heads with 2000 wet paper. Unit is 100% again. I upgraded the unit be removing the original hard wired foot pedal ,power, and output cables. I replaced these with rear mounted jacks for power, output and the foot pedal. The foot pedal jack also functions as an all wet out with this model. Added some new tape loops and the unit is as good as new.
