2012 Martin DCPA5k Year: 2012 Brand: Martin Model: DCPA5k Class: Guitar Scale: Owner: Nicole Chapman
2017-10-06: The guitar took a spill and split at the bottom and the back came partially loose. I glued the back up and added cleats to repair the split. It's cosmetically visible do to the lamination of the material, but structurally sound.
2022-11-03: Another spill for this Martin. This time the rest of the back came loose, pretty much everywhere except for my last repair. After aligning, gluing up the back and cleaning the seam taper, I notice the top wasn't straight. The top half of the x bracing and the lateral had collapsed under tension at some time.
I'm sure this partially attributes to the back coming loose. I glued and clamped the loose top top and back bracing. After this it was evident the bridge was slowly rolling up, causing higher action and the top to belly.
