2011 Fender Kingman SCR Year: 2011 Brand: Fender Model: Kingman SCR Class: Guitar Scale: Owner: Chad Bennett
Chad's Kingman took a bit of a tumble at a show.
2022-11-30: So the bottom took a good knock, luckily on inspection there was no real structural damage. I was able to inject glue into the damaged area and massage gently from inside and get it back into place. I added a little varnish to the remaining cracks, wet sanded with 2000 and then hand polished the area smooth. I injected glue from inside the guitar as well to help secure the area. The back was slightly raised from the binding. I thinned down hide glue and worked it into the seam and clamped it back into place over night. After that I noticed a crack in the preamp outer case. After disassembly I was able to glue it cak together and reinforce the area from the back.
2022-11-30: Chad's acoustic to a spill at a show.
The damage turned out to be mostly cosmetic, but left unattended it would certainly get worse over time. The damaged area was directly behind the tail block, so it was a bit trick to get back in place. The end result came out great.
The preamp frame was cracked from some time ago, but might as well fix that while I was at it.
