Na Fender MIM tele semiotics hollowbody Year: Na Brand: Fender Model: MIM tele semiotics hollowbody Class: Guitar Scale: Owner: Rush Urschel
I helped with wiring on this one when it was built, but Rush wanted a different finish. A nicer finish. Had a cold snap while layering the nitrocel lacquer and the finish cracked, so I went ahead and did an aging check to blend it in and give it an older look.
2023-06-28: Rush and William were building out this tele and ran into a couple of issues. First was the bridge/tail ground. It was originally a std tele plate string through, so the bridge ground was in the wrong place after the bigsby conversation. i was able to drill and run a new ground for the bigsby vibrato. Next was drilling the volume knob to fit the pot, which is an easy fix. I had to source the gold pickup adjustment screws in the correct size as the pickups use metric vs the more common smaller US size. I shielded the body cavity and pickguard to insure this guitar was as silent as it can be with no outside interference. Had to do a little neck shimming due to the height of the replacement bridge. Full fret clean, polish, and setup.
2023-09-25: It's back for a new neck and refinish, as the finish currently is a poor black relic job.
2023-10-01: The tele is back for a neck change out because Rush wants a different profile and a full custom paint refinish. The new neck is a vintage 70's japan all ample strat neck. The headstock will be color matched. So far I've gotten the body smooth, primed, and the purple base with silver metal flake.
Next I laid a black paisley lace coat with a black fade and soften of the base color. Then we are off to building clear and block sanding.
