This is a clone of the elusive Baldwin-Burns Buzzaround. A rarely seen 1960's fuzz pedal, the Buzzaround used three NKT213 Germanium transistors.
I used the original schematic and as usual I socketed all of the transistors. I went through my germaniums until I found a set with the right gains and the right sound.
The Buzzaround features three interactive controls; Sustain, Balance, and Timbre. This is a very versatile pedal with a really unique sound.
Robert Fripp used one on the Bowie track 'Heroes'.
