1962 Hammond L-102
Year: 1962
Brand: Hammond
Model: L-102
Class: Keyboard
Owner: James Talambas

After a breif diagnosis, it was obvious the cause was the tonewheel motor. I was able to start the motor spinning by hand, and it would continue on it's own. Now we had that signiture Hammond sound back, but the motor was getting very hot. The capacitor for the motor was buldged, a sure sign of failure. Also the motor seemed to be spinning slower than usual, but enough for the tonewheel box to work. This is a common Issue with old hammonds, usualy due to neglected service and age.
