This 1966 Vox Essex bass amp was shot. The case had broken due to water damage. In 2017 I rebuilt the case more compact with red oak ply to house a single 15in speaker vs the original 2x12. I covered the cab with vox style tolex and used as much of the original parts as possible, even reusing the original grill cloth. I made a new aluminum jack plate for the back in the same style as the originals. I upgraded the amplifier with an extra 8ohm speaker jack so it could drive another speaker cab as well as the internal 15in. I recapped the amplifier for longevity and stability before final assembly. It really did turn out to be quite a head turner!
